Make your reservation for the Bourbon Culinary Vacation with Kentucky personalities Colonel Michael Masters, The Kentucky Bourbon Master and Margaret Sue Masters, The Kentucky Hostess. The Colonel and Margaret Sue have been featured on Food Network TV with Paula Deen, The Travel Channel with Mark DeCarlo and Fine Living Channel with The Thirsty Traveler.
The Bourbon Culinary Vacation has only one objective and that is to eat and drink your way across Bourbon Country with The Colonel and Margaret Sue. By the end of the weekend you will feel very Kentucky and very Southern. By drinking with us you will learn the brands, the heritage and the history of Kentucky Bourbon. By cooking with us you will learn the foundation principals of Southern cooking. And by spending time with us you will discover the essence of being a Kentucky Gentleman or a Kentucky Lady. Only two couples or four to six ladies per weekend
**
During your stay with us we travel, drink and eat our way across the Bluegrass. We will tour local distilleries - Maker's Mark, Jim Beam, and Woodford Reserve. We will tour and taste fine Kentucky wine at Equus Run Winery in Historic Midway, Kentucky. We will eat at some fine restaurants and sometimes we will just hit a hole in the wall But one thing I can promise, the Kentucky countryside will be stunningly beautiful, the distilleries and wineries will be interesting, the food will be first rate and The Colonel and I will be ourselves-somewhat informative, totally fun loving and passionate about Kentucky fine foods and spirits.
You will have three opportunities to cook with The Colonel and Margaret Sue. The Kentucky Bourbon Cooking School endeavors to show case Kentucky foods and Southern cuisine. Our goal is to prepare those foods that can be reproduced back home to the delight of friends assembled. Kentucky fare and fine Southern cooking will be on the menu for the weekend.

Wednesday night we will dine out at Mike Lenning's Fish House, where we will eat hand breaded cod, oysters, shrimp and the best onion rings in Kentucky. We will sip cold beverages on picnic tables and experience a Kentucky fish house treasure that has been around since 1950.
Thursday lunch we will find ourselves at Lynn's Paradise Café, a quirky fun place that serves a really good meal. This restaurant has been on the Food Network TV with Bobby Flay.
Thursday afternoon we will gather at Chapeze House to prepare for a Kentucky Cocktail Party. The Colonel and Margaret Sue will invite a few of their friends to enjoy drinks and Kentucky Bourbon infused appetizers with us.
Friday we will lunch at the Maker's Mark's Toll House Cafe, to partake of a Kentucky pulled pork sandwich.
Friday afternoon we will again be at Chapeze House, this time to prepare for an elegant Kentucky dinner party. Grand Kentucky fare will be on the table in vessels of heirloom silver, china and crystal.
Saturday morning we meet at Chapeze House to put together the world famous Derby Breakfast, a brunch that will be served at 10:30. This is a repast you will remember for the rest of your life.
Saturday night dinner will be held at Holly Hill Inn at Midway, Kentucky, a region of the Bluegrass known world wide for its beautiful horse farms. Chef Quita Michal, the proprietor of Holly Hill Inn, is well regarded for her Kentucky inspired cuisine.
After our return to Bardstown on Saturday night The Colonel will demonstrate, and all will sample, the classic Kentucky Bourbon cocktails: the Old Fashioned, the Manhattan, the Mint Julep, the Chapeze House Cocktail and the Chapezetini.

For your accommodations you will stay in the Colonel's Cottage Inns in Bardstown for Wednesday Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. I am the proprietor of these cottages and I assure you the Mint Julep Cottages are absolutely beautiful. I have restored these historic cottages, built just after the Civil War to an immaculate degree. The cottages are furnished with Kentucky antiques, many from the plantation homes in our family.

The Colonel's Cottage Inns are private and unhosted. Each cottage has a high four-poster queen size bed, a living room, a spa bath and beautiful ceiling and floor moldings. The grounds are landscaped, wonderful places for morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail.
The bed linens are high thread count Egyptian cotton and luxurious white robes are in the closet awaiting your arrival. Coffee and tea service is in the kitchen. Bakery rolls and pastries are under glass for breakfast.

You will never forget your stay at the Colonel's Cottage Inns, they are that special. Once you have settled into your cottage, you are only a couple of blocks from Chapeze House and downtown Bardstown.
A cottage is reserved for each couple.
